You’ve probably noticed it’s been MONTHS since the last time I’ve made a post. Simply stated: we’ve been really, really busy! This has been a great spring and summer and I just haven’t made any time to sit down and write a blog post, or to take pictures as I’m crafting or making food. There are a couple of other blogs I’ve been working on though with skills that I’ve learned from working on Camp Greta. And hey, when the sun is out, so are we! Now that the seasons are changing, I may post more frequently.
So what am I announcing? We’re due with child #2 at the end of April! We’ve wanted to grow our family for a while now. P turned four this spring, I turned 35. I just didn’t want to wait much longer to go through pregnancy and birth considering my pregnancy and birth with P was especially difficult. Honestly, there were so many unknowns with P – unplanned pregnancy, we were very poor – all our resources were stretched so thin which to a lot of insecurity about life. Now, after two years of therapy, Jordan comfortable in his career, and knowing that I won’t have to return to work right after birth, I’m feeling a lot better about doing it all over again.
P has been asking for a sibling since she was just two years-old, so she’s been enthusiastically sharing the news with every stranger she meets. We already had plans to head back to MN for a wedding and for our yearly visit to Jordan’s family, so we wanted to keep the news to ourselves until then. Coaxing P to keep quiet on the matter through Skype calls was easier than I had imagined! We ordered this cute shirt off Amazon in preparation for the trip:
She put on the shirt after we got off the plane. The grandparents were ecstatic with the news – and the delivery! I think it went over much better than a phone call from Jordan saying, ‘I got my girlfriend pregnant.’
I’m having TONS of food cravings – and aversions. During my last pregnancy I ate everything I wanted, all the time. After gaining over 100 pounds on this small frame, I decided that it’s probably not the best idea to eat Taco Time for every single meal. I mean, it sounds GOOD, and I can’t help but bring TT into every conversation, but so far I’ve been able to steer clear from this 1st pregnancy habit.
Because I need an outlet to express all my pregnancy cravings, I started a new Twitter account – @PregoCravings. Follow me there to see what pregnant people are craving! You can still follow me @AvocadoGreta for non-cravings.
Ok, now off to find some (more) food to eat this afternoon!
